They think they are right but it is only in their own eyes, we are all fallen and no one of us is righteous. Not without Jesus!
Are you morally superior? No only God is for he is perfect!
Be not wise in your own eyes and do not judge or condemn people by worldly measures!
We all have fallen into sin no one is better than the other only Jesus makes the difference without him you would be just a sinner as the unbelievers.
Do not lean on your own understanding or wisdom!
Romans 10:3
For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
1 John 1:8
If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
Proverbs 16:2
All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, But the LORD weighs the motives.

Galatians 2:16
Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
If you are not following Jesus, if you are not born again and filled with the Holy Spirit of God you can never be righteous nor wise.
If your righteousness does not come from the most high God but from your worldly fallen self or Satan then you are just not right in Gods way!
Only God is perfect in righteousness and everything he does not you nor anybody else.
If we who have the Holy Spirit in us are only righteous because of Jesus then how much less is an unbeliever righteous who follows his own understanding.
To try to be righteous or judge justly without Jesus in your heart and life is like a swordsman fighting with a sword that is too heavy and big!
1 John 2:29 - If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
Psalms 45:7
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your fellows
Hosea 14:9
Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; Whoever is discerning, let him know them For the ways of the LORD are right, And the righteous will walk in them, But transgressors will stumble in them.
Psalms 37:6
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light And your judgment as the noonday.
YOU NEED TO BECOME BORN AGAIN AND FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD WHO TRANSFORMS YOU INTO CHRIST LIKENESS ONLY THEN WILL YOU HAVE HIS PERFECT RIGHTEOUSNESS IN YOU AND CAN RIGHTFULLY JUDGE!
